Bowsall complete on Barking development

Planning permission was granted in August 2011 for the demolition of the Short Blue public house and the erection of a 3/4 storey building to provide 1 one-bedroom flat, 8 two-bedroom flats and 5 three-bedroom flats. All of the units were for private market sale.

Due to prevailing economic situation the site was not developed and was an eyesore for the area. Bowsall with its Architect re-worked the scheme in partnership with Estuary Housing Association and bought it to life for a 100% affordable housing scheme.

The site now provides a an affordable rent and shared ownership scheme with an upgrade to code level 4 and will regenerate the local area.
